The projects proposed will naturally require an influx of workers and their families which will necessitate the need to provide adequate education facilities for their children and other family members. Therefore a number of schools ranging through nursery, pre-school, infant’s school, primary school, high school and trades colleges are proposed with the long term aim of the establishment of a University.
Vanuatu Agricultural Research & Technical Centre (VARTC) has become dysfunctional and to all intents and purposes does not operate. SPAARF intends to corroborate with a prominent Agricultural University in Australia to re establish VARTC with new buildings for teaching and research, to become a distance education centre where students can come to Vanuatu and learn, first hand, issues surrounding agriculture in the tropics.
We intend to look at current agricultural technology to see how we can grow better crops for both domestic users and also as potential export crops such as Coffee, Cocoa, Coconut, Sandalwood, Industrial Hemp and exotic timbers.
